      Pros

      Brex actually cares about employee wellbeing and listens to feedback. I have not seen this level of genuine caring at any other company. - We submitted feedback that we wanted more time to learn and develop skills. LT set up a day where no one was obligated to work and everyone was encouraged to spend their time self-learning. - Brex sends us holiday gifts, quarterly L&D stipends, and monthly WFH stipends. - Rewarding our hard work over the last year, the company gave every engineer off on a random Friday. They were encouraged to "decompress" and even given $75 stipends to spend on whatever.

      Cons

      The same you'd find at any startup. Priorities shift over time, it's a bit hard to tell what will deliver the most value, and some engineering decisions become painful and require rearchitecting.

      Incredible people, company, and opportunity to do great work

      Pros

      I joined Brex because I was excited about the mission, people, and how well placed the company was to be successful. Since joining there has been an incredible amount of growth and change but the above has remained constants. I am constantly blow away by the founders commitment to delivering a great customer experience, living our company values, and ensuring employees are rewarded both through great stock option structures but also the opportunity to work on great work and with the best talent in the industry. The 3 key reasons I would want to work at Brex are: 1. We are building a product that meaningful helps our customers grow 2. The people on your team will be both absolute sme's in their field (and very kind people) 3. You will have the opportunity to be stretched and grow your career more quickly than just about any other company will be able to offer you.

      Cons

      I absolutely love my job at Brex but it's not a great place for everyone. The people I have seen struggle most don't thrive in environments where there is regular change or, where they want stability and routine around projects and working styles (although the business has become very good in the past ~12-months at flexible arrangements for parents/ppl with responsibilities outside work).

      Good pay, toxic culture

      Pros

      - Pay is good. - Free lunches that are good.

      Cons

      - Growth at the expense of everything. Code quality is awful. Upper management claims to care about quality but actions speak louder than words. - Very aggressive, inconsiderate culture where inappropriate and unprofessional comments and behavior run rampant. - Terrible work life balance is not just tolerated, but actively encouraged and celebrated.
