Pros

BuildZoom, first and foremost, has amazing people. Every individual is extremely intelligent, friendly and hardworking. They are compassionate and conduct themselves with class and dignity. The company is an idea meritocracy, where ideas are examined for their worth with evidence and data. No ego environment, makes it an easy place to work.

Cons

Have to think really hard, but, need more engineers!

Pros

The snacks in the office?

Cons

Excessive amounts of admin work, management is obsessed w/ daily dials and talk time numbers, fake consultative process (they want you to literally read from the scripts they give you exclusively)

Great Concept, Poor Execution

Pros

• A paycheck (generally on time) • Remote, but beginning May '24 mandatory hybrid with 3 days in office and 2 home

Cons

• Low base pay for a Construction PM • Commission was restructured multiple times. Employees now earn approximately 40% of what was previously paid out • Mandatory return to office/hybrid • Sales team overpromises and it's up to PM team to deliver • Majority of Upper Management have Sales Background and try to instill sales metrics to Project Management • Majority of Projects sold are unfeasible and PM team has to attempt to collect as many invoices as possible from client before they realize that their build is unattainable and they cancel • No professional development • No room for advancement • For a Pre Construction company, you can count on 1 hand how many employees actually have any construction experience • Associate Project Managers are realistically only Administrative Assistants in charge of communication and outreach (which follows sales scripts and cadences) • Managers are told to Micro Manage and have software which they utilize to see what you are doing on screen and they even monitor your DMs in Slack • High turnover rate that rivals a Sales org
