Recruited to help standup a new business unit but after arriving my duties didn't match in the slightest the job description I was given. Within my first week my manager had insulted all of my coworkers to me behind closed doors as well as his peers. It would stand to reason that he was doing the same to me. After ~ 3 months of essentially doing nothing I stated that I was being underutilized and was not sure the new business unit was on the right path while suggesting some changes. I did this VERY tactfully. I was told I had no clue what I was talking about and my opinion meant "less than nothing". Three days later I was fired with zero disciplinary action taken against me. I was given a severance but the job I was recruited away from has a non-compete so now I am unable to even return to the industry I was in for ~ 18 months. Proceed with caution.

Owners, management, board, and the others in charge really don't seem to have any idea what's going on anymore. Practice what you preach is no longer a thing. Different rules apply to different people depending on your relationship to the family. Plenty of higher ups running the show nowadays that are only in their roles because of who they know and not what they know. Everyone in every department is spread so thin that they're continually robbing Peter to pay Paul simply to stay afloat. Virtually no support offered to employees until they're at literal breaking points in their careers at CCR. No matter how much you state you need help, it won't come until you are failing and they can then swoop in and try to seem like a savior. Insane amount of insecurity and backstabbing among upper management towards employees.
