    Sometimes, you’ll make great friends.

    Cons

    Long hours, low hourly rate and tons of work. You definitely do not get paid enough for the amount of work you do and cooperate knows that too. They just don’t care.

      1. Ability to learn from a multitude of doctors/ PA's 2. Very patient centered/ involved 3. Access to free snacks/ coffee/ tea 4. Match 4% after 90 days 5. Unlimited OT 6. Good co-workers (varies by site, but more people are good to work with) 7. Longer hrs (12 hours) but fewer days in the week (my preference)

      Pros

      One of the best experiences for any pre-med/PA/nursing student. You learn key medical skills like taking patient history, performing different diagnostic tests, and assist with a variety of different procedures. You're able to build relationships with physicians, learn medical decision making skills, and see/interact with a lot of interesting cases.

      Cons

      Very little flexibility with scheduling, and lack of part time opportunities. It's extremely demanding and unrealistic to expect scribes to work full time (32 hrs + per week), when the majority of scribes are in school/studying for mcat, etc, and the company does not offer part time/float positions for scribes, causing many to have to quit. This leaves a feeling that the company is not invested in its employees, since...

      Advice to Management

      Allow scribes to switch to part time/per diem. Pay scribes a fair salary for the level of work they do.
