Pros

It's a really cool product, and the people you get to talk to are passionate. Working remotely is nice.

Cons

I want to be constructive because, for a long time, COROS was genuinely a great place to work and I really enjoyed my time there. Unfortunately, over time I felt the company changed significantly. There were recurring product issues that customers and support teams raised repeatedly, but it often felt like those concerns were not being adequately addressed. I also found opportunities for career growth and professional development to be limited. As the company grew, it seemed to adopt some of the expectations and pace of a larger tech company without always putting the same employee processes, support structures, and development pathways in place. There are still many talented and hardworking people at COROS, and I learned a great deal during my time there. However, by the end, I felt there was a growing disconnect between the company's ambitions and the support provided to both employees and customers.

Pros

Very transparent and performance driven company. A great place to work if you want to affect change in the sports technology industry.

Cons

If you're not comfortable with working in a truly global environment working across multiple time zones and cultures you will find it very difficult.

Pros

Remote, the co-workers who are doing the same job as you, the product is decent.

Cons

This company doesn’t care about its employers the way they claim they do. They lack communication and good leadership skills. Trying to get a promotion here when you aren’t kissing a**, you’re told to “prove yourself” even after already doing so much for the company. Even if you do lean into that, if you are not a “favorite” you’re still going to be met with push back or excuses as to why you didn’t get one. The same “leadership” who is declining to promote you is then asking you to take on more work and expecting you to do it or you’ll be let go. It is an endless cycle of being burnout with no incentive. No matter how much you contribute and go above and beyond here, often times without being asked to do it but offering, you will be asked to prove yourself further, do a trial period, or pick if you want a title change or a raise. The support team works the hardest at this company, but treated the worst and often fixing issues that other departments have created with no recognition. They are often least considered with anything, or their work is based on unrealistic metrics that are impossible to meet with a such a small team and refusing to hire more. The HR department also doesn’t exist or know what they are doing to support you as an employer as they will ghost you, gaslight you or leave you to figure it out on your own. If you want to work for a company where you have little say in anything, your hard work goes unnoticed, you don’t like getting promotions, or like to be lied to this is the place for you.
