32% positive business outlook
Pros
Working autonomy, some flexibility, great support team
Cons
No work life balance, no help within the clinic. You complete all task, including cleaning.
Pros
Autonomy, diverse population, team work, ability to grow clinical skills. Knowledge of newest medication, policy, and healthcare trends. Encouraged to grow with company and ability to advance in profession.
Cons
Training is brief, new operations or programs are sent via email. Insufficient training and education with new or standing flow of work.
Pros
Needed a job and was hired pretty fast. Coworkers were friendly. Down to earth. Can talk about anything.
Cons
Lots of standing. A standing chair would be nice.
Pros
great team to work with
Cons
understaffed, more services offered but no support staff available, low salary
Pros
the department is remote, my supervisor is great.
Cons
the department is remote so you're chained to the chair taking calls all day. the pay is a literal joke when this is a billion dollar company, having to do a shift bid in the beginning of the year and then having to completely switch your life due to "business needs" are all huge red flags. yes, its a call center job and its not the best.
Pros
Easy to get hired-I work with a great team
Cons
Must be able to multitask and come with a lot of energy
Pros
Terrific schedule and I never bring work home with me.
Cons
The power that be have gone insane and are now double booking appointments every 10 minutes. It’s an impossible schedule that is unsafe for both patients and your license
Pros
30 hours a week (180 hours a 6 week pay period) for full time status benefits is great for work-life balance. Every other weekend is required unless you have been there for a while, then it is every third weekend. This alone is the reason I have stuck with MC all these years. Great set of gold standard guidelines to follow for each type of illness/condition that we deal with, no no question if you are up to date on treatment protocols.
Cons
No longer competitive pay. I am in a large city that has a huge medical community and comparing benefits and pay, MC is no longer competitive. The benefits have become worse over the years (slashed) as has the pay. Very little PTO for the first 10 years. They want you to take on stretch roles, but do not offer compensation, extra time (free hours to work in that capacity), nor bonuses for such (team lead, epic super-user, chart reviews, preceptor, etc). They hire PCA’s that are supposed to support the provider like an LPN could, and increase pt load to a visit every 10 minutes (PCA’s cannot give vaccines, cannot follow standing orders, do not have the clinical experience and critical thinking skills necessary to help triage patients). They end up costing us more time with all the interruptions that occur while you are seeing another patient. They keep changing protocols and epic formats so every week you come in there is a new operational standard, guideline or protocol for the kiosk, signing a patient in, computer workflow, etc. it’s getting ridiculous trying to keep up with the changes and new initiatives. Social isolation. One NP, if you are lucky, one PCA or LPN and you run ALL day long, no coworkers to get together with or build relationships with. Dangerous situations, in a small room with DOT exams that often end up with threats, verbal or physical violence, running over due to drivers being dishonest, angry and trying to de-escalate the situation.
Pros
Loved my team, boss and customers
Cons
Disliked the big company move of not appreciating your employees as much as your customers
