- Wanneer je aan een bedrijf gematcht wordt wat voor jou zowel inhoudelijk, als qua bedrijfssfeer bij je past dan kan het een goede opstap voor je carrière zijn. (Ze beloven je echter gouden bergen om je naar binnen te praten ('Natuurlijk heb je zelf invloed op waar je terecht komt! We kijken echt naar jou als persoon en er is altijd ruimte voor discussie!') In de praktijk komt het erop neer dat als je je kritisch uitlaat over je mogelijke plaatsing, de kans groot is dat je morgen op straat staat. ) - Fijn dat je veel relevante certificaten mag halen en cursussen mag doen op kosten van Calco.
Cons
- Je kan op 1,5 uur reistijd van je woning geplaatst worden. Hier is verder niet echt discussie over mogelijk, ook al beloven ze je vooraf dat dit wel zo is. Maak je duidelijk dat je liever binnen een uur reistijd blijft dan wordt misschien wel je proeftijd beëindigd omdat je je niet flexibel genoeg opstelt. - Veel mensen krijgen tijdens het tweejarige traject een burnout. Mocht er tijdens je proefperiode aan het licht komen dat er medisch iets met je aan de hand is of ooit in het verleden was (psychisch of fysiek) dan kunnen ze daarom je proefcontract beëindigen. Je wordt dan te 'zwak' geacht om de twee jaar te voltooien. Hier is verder geen discussie over mogelijk. - Enorme popie jopie cultuur. Moet je van houden. - Ze doen alsof ze heel persoonlijk zijn maar eigenlijk rammen ze er in korte tijd zo veel mogelijk mensen doorheen om zo veel mogelijk geld te verdienen. Ik heb Calco zelf niet echt als heel persoonlijk ervaren.

- You can meet many nice other trainees - lots of training in intakes/ job interviews - soft skill lessons in communication etc.
Cons
- about 40% of trainees get fired in the 2 month traineeship - performance based environment, you will be judged on you presence, ownership and flexibility. someone that does well in social settings too. - traineeship is focused on your skill to do intakes well, if you fail one their three tests on this you are basically already out, and they are not easy - if you are an english speaker i do not recommend, their exam's for certificates are still in Dutch. - no transparency overall (for example, you will get assigned a deep dive that you need to do, in for example Java, they will not explain this choice. around 30% will get a deep dive they are not happy with) - Everything you learn is self study, there are teachers for the first two weeks, but they are not allowed to help you solve the assignments - the self study material is bad, i would recommend a regular old coding academy class - you have to be flexible about moving - you also have to be flexible about the work that you want to do, if they think something else suits you better you have to agree - you will be underpaid for the type of job that you will do - you have to be very sure about your IT link, if they do not see it you will be sent home. (basically you need to have some experience, even though they state you don't) - you cannot leave after the first five weeks until the contract is over after two years, otherwise you have to pay them 13.000 euros in education debt. (the sum is higher if you only get a potential traineeship, this also means that you will be paid even less)
