Pros

Bond with colleagues about how much you hate your job over some free drinks.

Cons

Where do I start? Useless, inept, and quite frankly offensive management who (literally) sit with their feet up on the table. Turnover is insanely high. You will either quit or be sacked before they can fail to deliver on the dreams you’re sold when you join. Very cliquey. You’re part of the “in” crowd or you’re not. Absolutely zero trust in employees. You will be micromanaged within an inch of your life. Potential for management to extend your probation period without warning to keep their hands on the (small amounts of) commission you should be getting. Would not be surprised if management were stood watching over someone’s shoulder as these 5-star reviews were typed out. The apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree - if you Google search “Jones Beckett ContractorUK” you will find a forum where you can read about how a Capax director’s previous company, Jones Beckett, was liquidated and numerous contractors apparently went without getting paid. Additionally, the forum talks you through the many alleged shameless internal practices at Jones Beckett that were also going on at Capax whilst I worked there. They rip candidates for leads, sell candidates jobs that don’t exist, ridicule and mock interviewees in private, refer to consultancies with a large Indian workforce as “sweatshops” - I could go on. I’ve seen them threaten to withhold holiday from people as punishment. I’ve seen employees brought to tears. If you are interviewing here, I have one word for you: Run.

Capax Resource Management Response

Capax Resource Management have consistently pushed to provide a productive environment for all of our staff to achieve results , the company in 7 years has never once failed to pay a contractor . I am sorry you had a negative experience and this environment was not for you. Withholding commission or holiday is a baseless accusation , we regularly pay our consultants before our clients pay us and work closely with them should adverse circumstances arise. None of these points have ever been raised with management internally and if they had they would of been dealt with immediately.

Pros

- Grad culture which usually works well (until management come along) - Training cohorts help to ease you in to the industry - Remote working flexibility, but too much is done from home - Some truly great people there, albeit in an awful company. Tom and Sam make good team leaders

Cons

- Revolving door, people are sacked more than Watford FC’s managers. Every exit is abrupt - Heavily KPI-driven approach and very little flexibility on trivial targets like voicemails - You have to bear the brunt of one manager’s mid-life crisis and constant yearn for control. It’s like a pub bouncer fell into recruitment - Questionable comments made by leadership regarding race and gender - Long hours (to be expected in recruitment) - Very outdated styles of teaching, and they have 3 terms which are supposed to enlighten you - “fear, desire, and urgency.” Expect some very poor attempts at an inspirational speech. - the ‘Wannabe Wolf of Wall Street’ type reviews are unbelievably accurate, take notice of them…

Pros

- Ability to make money, seen a few people do really well, although this is just two people - A few good eggs

Cons

- Micromanagement - expect every single movement to be tracked and expect some jumped up bouncer (to use another review's phrasing) to pile into you on a Monday morning - Outdated Ownership - they've got no idea how to run a business in this day and age, it's just a rinse/repeat method where they use their revolving door to build their database - Compensation - they'll come up with every excuse under the sun as to why they can't send you the money that you put in their pocket - Holiday - expect to be pushed back on any single holiday request you may have, they do not care about you, simple as - Work/Life Balance - non-existant, just say goodbye now - Training - a former primary school teacher will be training you, despite having no knowledge of the industry or related roles - Base Salary - it's below virtually any graduate role - Career Growth - do not join this company if you're fresh out of uni, they won't care for what you're going to do, you're simply a temporary filler for them while they build out their database
