Free food brought in occasionally. You have to try to get fired. Engineering manager is great to work with and the lower level employees are fun (those that are left).
Cons
Pay is pitifully low. Like it would be considered low ten years ago low.
Owner is set in his backwards ways and is actively hurting the company. He is colorblind and in charge of aesthetics and colors. That says it all. Projects change with the wind. Nothing ever gets launched because he gets held up on the 1 yard line deciding which shade of blue for the product or what font for the box for 3 years. You will have nothing to show for when you leave.
He changes his mind on decisions he’s made and forgets his previous decisions and then blames you for why it isn’t launched yet.
Health insurance is expensive. Retirement plans are horrible with expensive fees. Little vacation days and no sick days. Even if your job is possible to do remote and you can’t come in because you’re sick, you can’t do it and instead need to forego pay.
Extremely high turnover rate. About half the company has quit since I started. About a dozen people left in the last 6-8 months.
Everyone I have talked to at the company has desires to leave and is actively looking for positions elsewhere. This company is going to go out of business in the next couple years if nothing changes.
Monday through Friday. Small company, Good place to gain experience.
Cons
Lack of coherent direction, company is in flux at the moment. High turnover rate, which wasn't always the case. Owner is not open to suggestions. good person, but set in his ways.
