Pros

Nothing great, normal operation takes place

Cons

Top leadership doesn't take any ownership, only wants juniors to take all risks and own the processes. Can be fired even if you are a great performer. Anything can happen with exceptional approval. Need buttering skills for survival.

Pros

Sales travel by cabs. High respect in trade community owing to superior brand power. Lesser job accountability (challenge yourself to lowest delivery levels and yet you won't be fired).

Cons

Poor career progression. Weak top management. Highly unfair in rewards, recognition, promotions (also reflected in GPTW survey)

Pros

Cabs provided for market visits

Cons

1. Politics is played at all levels in the organization. 2. All the support functions- finance and supply chain harass and hound people in sales and Castrol's supply chain and operations is one of the worst I have seen in the companies I have worked for. 3. The company regularly runs into losses and hence fires people at the lower levels in the organization including regional managers just to hide their own incompetence at the higher levels. 4. Nobody is held accountable for any performance related issues 5. Promotions are never related to performance and are only politics related (If you can lick the feet of the top management you will get plum positions even if you never performed and done only time pass 6. No new roles get created in Castrol because the company never grows and unless and until someone in the higher ups resign you will never get that position for years 7. Extremely slow company which doesnt know how to catch up with the changing times 8. I was a woman manager and I was told by a very senior manager that "I should consider a career selling cosmetics and beauty products because women cannot sell lubricant oil"
