Crippling Micromanagement

Pros

Here lies therein some of the sweetest, friendliest people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Very intelligent people who are happy to share their knowledge.

Cons

- The owners are unbelievably cheap. They expect perfect work for dirt pay and believe that you owe their company your life for being so gracious as to hire you. It is no secret that these people are very, very wealthy and privileged but refuse to put any money into their company or their employees. The treatment I've seen of some of their most talented workers is shameful. If you're not making enough money (which you won't, if you're not in the sales department) and need to get a second job, they will gingerly inform you that if you do this, you WILL get burnt out, you will no longer be of use to them because any monkey can do your job. There's absolutely no loyalty to the employee while they expect you to have complete loyalty to the company. -The micromanagement and ego of the owners is out of control in this company and probably the reason why they're not growing as fast as they could be. You cannot make any decisions in your job, whether large or small without asking the owners first if it is OK to do so. They do not trust anyone to do their job correctly and don't leave anyone alone to do what they were hired to do. The owners are glorified, very wealthy (yet still cheap) nannies because they think that they are the smartest people in the room. -You can't move up in the company because 1) Its too small because they don't hire enough people, so you'd probably be the only person in your department and 2) They WILL come up with an excuse not to pay you more.

Pros

Nice offices in a great location, right off I-75, walking distance to Publix, and a short drive from downtown Weston shops. Free beverages and snacks. Offices are well-furnished and comfortable.

Cons

Processes are chaotic, inconsistent and haphazardly documented, if at all. Management and sales regularly make unreasonable promises to clients, fail to communicate said promises to the rest of the team in a timely manner, and refuse to acknowledge the scope of work required to fulfill said promises. They do not offer a health insurance plan. The small monthly stipend they offer instead is paltry, and the lack of this benefit is not compensated for in their salary calculation.

We do appreciate the constructive criticism and definitely know that our production process has room for improvement as our company is in a high growth mode. Unfortunately after just 45 days on the job, it became quickly obvious that this gentleman had not worked in a fast pace tech environment before that requires a high level of multitasking. He was not happy and unable to perform the work and we recognized that we needed to ask him to leave (as difficult a decision as it was). I am sure that he will find more suitable employment matching his excellent creative skills.
