      Pretty nice coworkers/ direct colleagues and lots of interaction with students

      Cons

      The company and leadership. I’m a social worker hired into a school counselor role, supervisor had no idea what school social workers actually do and how we differ from school counselors. Also, no standard curriculum accross the board for classroom guidance lessons? Equity in education matters- students should be taught similar skills/ information despite their location whether is be core classes or SEL.

      It's a total shame that the company is "cycling out" older more experienced people in favor of the younger, MBA worker. I guess the only thing they care about is bottom line. HR, of course, is a complete waste of money...

      Some of the worst experiences I’ve had while teaching

      Sweet students. Awesome teachers!

      Terrible work environment. Teachers treated like children. Worked at a school where principal sent teachers to tell me to “cover up”. When I complained, was told that I was a “guest” at the school and therefore had no power. Principal would also spend his days selling cookies and pocketing the money from the community he was stealing from. It was ridiculous and unreal. Admin lied and said they would replace carpeting so that pre-k students wouldn’t get black mold poisoning in the flooded basement as in years past. Moved me out of room and placed a newer inexperienced teacher in room without ventilation and mold. Horrendous and sadly not isolated incident at this company. Other schools operate routinely in this way.
