Pros

Bonus every year but are giving less and less each year. That's about it.

Cons

- New CEO is incompetent. Only cares about shareholders. Out of touch. Calls workers back to the office before covid slowed down (delta wave), took away unlimited sick time and replaced it with only 5 days per year (they don't roll over either), switched to more expensive healthcare plans. He's been the CEO of multiple companies and doesn't seem to have ever worked a day in his life. Isn't concerned about employee turnover. - Management doesn't effectively lead. They get told what to do by the executive team and just lay over and take it. - They don't value individual contributors. - Turn over is crazy bad. They will expect you to inherit cowokers responsibilities and never backfill positions. - No company culture even though CEO claims there is one.

Pros

There are no restrictions. You can do whatever you want. You can wear a mask or not. You can keep distance or not. You can get vaccine or not. You can cough on people or not. You can come in sick with a fever or not.

Cons

Outbreaks, outbreaks, outbreaks everywhere. If you want to get sick, this is the place to be. CEO ordered every one into the office during Delta wave, after working from home for a year. Then he cut sick days, increase cost of health care. This is pushing out or killing off a lot of old timers. The experienced but expensive people are replaced by cheap, new hires who do not know what they are doing. They make a lot of mistakes, wastes resources. Turnover is through the roof. Morale is at historical low.

Slow but sure decline

Pros

Supposedly a very safe and stable job; however, there were a lot of layoffs when the company acquired Vectren. However, the incentives are consistent, pay is average, and hardly anybody needs to work more than the standard 40 hours.

Cons

Because of the stability and the overall slow-moving nature of the utility industry, the company is not up to speed with other workplace practices. Promotions are very slow and very much experience over merit-based. Pay and benefits are either at or below average, never above in anything. The worst thing right now is the removal of benefits. When I started at the company, you'd get 2 weeks of vacation till 5 years and then 3 weeks after, and you could buy a week of vacation, so that'd push you to 3/4 weeks. However, they removed that and now you get 3 weeks at 5 years up until 13 years when you get the 4th week. 3 weeks is not a good vacation policy. They also recently cut sick time. Regarding Covid-19, there has not been a word about covid in months, besides the reinstatement of the mask policy. No WFH options and a fully staffed office, despite being remote for 15 months.
