Pros

Opportunities to explore different new things Open to new technologies and ideas Understanding team that’s willing to help No micromanagement Great chance to learn how the life sciences industry works and discover interesting aspects about it

Cons

Can be a bit challenging for those coming from other industries to gain knowledge of life sciences (but you’ll pick it up as you start working)

Pros

Decent Salary Free lunches now and again Good life sciences education

Cons

"Telemarketing" recycled leads over and over and over... Commission plan is vague - you know you earned it, but are told by one manager to see another manager to see another manager...

Pros

Never used up any sick time.

Cons

Constant push to drive revenue. Rather than calling a janitor a janitor, they insist on something like landscape engineer. Case in point, employees ARE telemarketing and setting appointments for CROs but management uses weaselly doublespeak to avoid those terms. During training, management will say these aren't bing-bang-boom sales, happening over time, but demanding results yesterday. The post-work meetings are a circlejerk for managers, talking about ephemera with a captive audience. Who cares what formula you're using in Excel to track sales, FFS? Couldn't this have been an email? Meetings are a way of shaming people who don't perform, and when someone finally has something to share with the rest of the team, reps will actively ensure their co-worker doesn't get the appointment set after the call.
