I worked at Cherokee Insurance Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good entry level position for starting your career.

    Cons

Very little room for advancement. Management gives no feedback on your performance. Lack of training

    Advice to Management

There is a lack of leadership leading to low job satisfaction and morale. Management needs to provide feedback to their employees.

I have been working at Cherokee Insurance Company for more than a year

    Pros

They are flexible with schedules and are able to work with you. You get yearly raises. Nice people and nice atmosphere.

    Cons

Once you become a good worker, and it's noticed, you end up having to do everyone else's job because they know you will do it. You get over worked quickly and they don't take work away. Not everyone is given a bonus even though they deserve them. No room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Don't over work your good and reliable employees. Make the workers who do nothing actually do their work.

I have been working at Cherokee Insurance Company full-time

    Pros

It's steady work. You show up, do your work and go home. You get some good exposure and experiences to the insurance world without having to do sales. You're paid every Friday and there is some room to grow and advance

    Cons

They could do more for employee moral. Whether it's direct management or above them, it would be nice to feel more appreciated.

    Advice to Management

Talk to employees on more of a personal level. Help to boost employee moral

I have been working at Cherokee Insurance Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you are reliable, have great work ethic and you perform well; it will be recognized and you will be compensated for it. Also, I enjoy the people I work with, everyone is great and very supportive.

    Cons

The facility is a little out dated and could use some updating.

    Advice to Management

Continue to recognize the hard working employees and coach the ones who are falling behind.

I worked at Cherokee Insurance Company full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Friendly coworkers and lower management. Lower management is willing to work around schedules. Pay is decent. Great temporary or beginning job.

    Cons

Insurance is expensive, deductibles are high, only covers up to 80% and no vision is offered. Maximum vacation is 3 weeks (after 8 years). No holiday's off and full-time employment is 42.5 hours/week. The building itself is an old with small slits for windows. Heating and cooling in the building barely work.

    Advice to Management

Show appreciation for your employees. Holiday parties, barbeques, after-work events and team-building can make a huge difference to the overall health of your company.

I worked at Cherokee Insurance Company full-time

    Pros

    Some friendly employees, decent pay

    Cons

No advancement opportunities at all and you will not get any feedback from management or supervisors unless you ask for it directly. You are offered very little vacation time, and it takes EIGHT full years of service to receive the common 3 weeks off. The computer programs are outdated and the company is not as efficient as they could be because of it. Distribution of work is extremely uneven, some employees are overwhelmed,...

    Advice to Management

Get involved! Get involved with your employees, their workloads, their tasks, their projects. Get a better idea of what is going on within the day to day activities of the company, so that workloads can be distributed more evenly, and everything can be done more efficiently. If possible, offer perks to those who are progressing and successful, but if that is not feasible, at least utilize the employees that are eager...
