      Pros

      I was attached to State Bank of India for 39.5 years starting from English Stenographer, Accountant,Field Officer,Branch Manager to Chief Manager from time to time.

      Cons

      Short of staff and Officers were chronic problems.

      Pros

      Used to be a community bank relating to customers as people not numbers.

      Cons

      The bank's philosophy has morphed into Big Bank mentality. They have run off many of the long term employees. Three or four of the entire bank's employees make decisions without ever considering asking for input from the rest of the employees. Pay scale is well below average.

      Community banking means knowing your customers personally

      Cons

      Unless you're part of the "clique", they are nice to your face and talk behind your back. Wouldn't let me take my lunch hr to get my kids from school.
