Almost the entirety of the leadership team is your stereotypical Silicon Valley privileged white straight white male. The company suffers from a severe case of Founder's Syndrome, and it's toxic from the top down.
Things I saw & overheard at my time there: several of the leadership team discussing their weekend ayahuasca retreat in the hills, drugs in the office, a complete disrespect for women (including the CEO saying he didn't want to share a restroom with women, and another "exec" who enjoyed playing devil's advocate when issues of inclusion and diversity were raised).
They talk a GREAT talk about being open to feedback. They are NOT. An employee was literally bit in the face by another employee's dog, and the CEO refused to allow HR to develop and enforce an office dog policy. He just wants to play in a company he built with his friends, rake in $$, and throw lavish parties.
As another person said - they laid off a ton of folks when Covid started. Granted, that can't necessarily be helped... except for a company that was at best 1/4 NOT straight white men, almost everyone they laid off was a parent (I think to save $ on paying dependent health insurance), a woman, a person of color, or otherwise from an underrepresented group.
