Pros

Collaborative culture and the opportunity to work somewhere that’s doing good in the world. Everyone genuinely cares about the work and it’s amazing to be part of such a close and talented team.

Cons

It’s fast paced! But I guess any growing startup is like that.

Pros

Closinglock is unique in the Austin tech scene. It's a great place to learn & grow, with tons of opportunities to increase scope & responsibilities as you do. In my time at Closinglock, I've gone from knowing nothing about the industry or a lot of the functions I work with on the day to day, to feeling like an expert in my function in the space. Folks are also collaborative and celebrate each other's wins in a genuine way. And, the company is doing well, which always makes work more fun :) While not the norm in Austin tech, being 5 days in-person is a key part of the culture of Closinglock too. There are company events, weekly lunches and other celebrations to keep energy up, and folks are respectful of their coworkers' time once they've left the office. And a new policy of work-from-anywhere days gives more flexibility when you need it.

Cons

Closinglock has been growing fast, so there have been some bumps along the way in staffing and supporting that growth. There are times where folks have to lean in and support on things outside their scope, to fill gaps. But there's usually buy-in to fixing these gaps as quickly as possible, in the current hiring environment.

Pros

Generous compensation, top tier talent, interesting product, great office perks, free weekly lunches, parties and stacked kitchen.

Cons

Expect very high turnover, volatile management style and short employment here. Top leadership frequently lets employees go on the spot with no notice or feedback, leaving the remaining team constantly waiting for the next 'tap on the shoulder.' It’s difficult to focus on work when you're always walking on eggshells. If you make one year here, you're considered a veteran.
