Pros

free coffee in the lunch room. People that work here become very close and family-like ( Much like prisoners serving life together). Job security is thru the roof. Literally have to do something terrible to lose your job. With little resources there is always overtime.

Cons

literally too many to list. its terrible from the top down. upper management is unorganized and scatter-brained. they are disconnected from their respective depts. as a result of this your life at cmi will start and end like this. you will be given a dog and pony show about how we are growing and have many oppurtunities here. if you believe the smiles and tales then you'll be offered a position and compensation about 20k below industry standard. most likely you wont accept unless this is your 1st job out of college or you've been unemployed for a long time and need something. then you'll be overworked and under...no, never appreciated until you come to your senses and find something better. you will quit after all the disrespect of an arbitrary low raise annually and no promotions. the carrot is always dangling in your face here but its the matrix so the carrot isnt even real

Pros

- Good for a fresh science graduates to get your foot in the industry related to your education. but only do it if it is your last last last LAST resort. In addition, do it for only couple of months and leave. - Co-workers at the Oakland facility is the ONLY best thing about this company and ONLY thing I miss. They are genuine people that truly care about others around them and help them excel not only within the workplace but outside as well. It is a shame that upper management abuses individuals like these and do not help them climb higher within the company. - Company matches 3% of your really low salary to your 401k plan without any contributions from your end. - Company allows overtime and on weekends as well. - This list is true and yes, these are the only pros at this company.

Cons

-There is minimal guidance from upper management who try to brain wash you thinking into the company will make your future. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. There is no future for this company if they do not make changes from Managers and above. - Individuals with no degree but have years’ worth of manufacturing experience are not given the opportunity to climb up within the company. Many individuals such as these have more knowledge of the clean room and products then upper management does. - Minimal break which is only in the morning for 15 minutes and 30-minute lunch break. However, there should be at least a second 15-minute break after the lunch according to what other companies give. You cannot over work your employees to squeeze every last man power out of them. Give them the necessary breaks so they can perform better throughout the day. - Very very very VERY low compensation/bonus structure. Does not even come close to the industry standard for the amount of work they make you do. - The very bad insurance the company offers does not start until you pass 6 months with them. This clearly states that people come here and leave within few months because that's how bad it is. - Company combines sick days/vacation days/personal days into just JUST 14 days. This is outrageous no other company follows such policy. - Forget about the company being closed or delayed due to inclement weather. Even if it is a state of emergency they would be open and if you elect not to come they make you use your PTO's. Same goes for delayed openings even if there is one they would not pay you for the hours you missed they would rather have you risk your life to get to the facility and clock in. - When there is maintenance that causes the company to close for few days. They do not cover the employees for this but instead force you to apply your PTO's for these days. - The HR department is a joke at this company, do not waste your time going to them for any complaints especially regarding management because they will simply not care. In addition, they do not run background checks on employees they hire which means you have people with criminal charges working there. Once again, the company does not care about the safety of the employees and want to just hire someone at the lowest rate possible. - When there is nothing to do in production department such as when a 3rd party company is obtaining samples from the clean room for testing or when there is maintenance/repair. They do not allow the employees to sit and wait for them to finish or ask them to come late to work, but instead they make them clean/cut tendons or worst put you to mop/clean around the office workplace. These are not mentioned in the job descriptions and they still force you to do them by making you feel guilty and obligated. - There is absolutely little to no communication between the management and employees. The management waits the day of to notify individuals regarding any changes in their role or facility. - You most likely will have to handle harmful chemicals with minimal to no respiratory projection. - The only reason why this company has survived this long since the founder sold it, is because whenever they are about to get audited from FDA or any other agency they seem to know ahead of time, so they scramble and make necessary adjustments within the clean room and outside of the workplace, so they do not get audited. There are countless regulations that the company breaks on a weekly basis, I seriously was mind-boggled when I encountered such issues within the clean room.
