Pros

The company is largely "virtual". Most employees work from home offices. Most of their technical staff is very knowledgeable. They are definite leaders among consulting companies that work with the SAP BPC product.

Cons

The management is flaky and often unprofessional. Senior managers do not return emails or phone calls at times, even when you are trying to give them something they have asked for. They are not slow to return phone calls and emails. They simply do not return them sometimes. There is almost no formal process around how managers should interact with employees. The net result is that moving from one manager to another is like changing jobs. You may be asked to do things in the opposite manner to how you were trained to do them. There is no consistency or uniform policy at all in many operational areas. Employees who leave the company are terminated immediately and not paid for their notice period. I would recommend to any one who considers leaving the company that you quit with no notice the business day before you leave the company unless you aren't inconvenienced by missing a paycheck.

Pros

Legends in their own minds and certainly SAP driven, Column5 and specifically CEO David Den Boer is the pinnacle of expansion.

Cons

What does it say when the person that is your head of marketing and primary responded to these (and other) websites ultimately leaves also. Time for a reality check with this organization. They are not organized and prioritize earnings above people.

Thank you for your feedback, and we agree that Column5’s investments in our team’s skills have created a bright future for our organization. Your criticism on the lack of sincerity of our programs does sting, especially in light of how you acknowledge the many efforts we put forth to establish a dialog around how we can improve. Establishing a dialog requires bi-directional communication. Including employees in a vibrant culture really is a priority from the top down that we recognize is important for our team to get right. We will continue to make efforts in this regard. As for the industry fluctuations, EPM is a strong market right now, as it has been for the past decade and will likely continue into the future. At the same time, there are new entrants to the market like cloud based solutions, and new technologies. All of these changes give more choices and functionality to customers. Accordingly, Column5 is working to enhance & evolve our services to offer customers valuable EPM solutions that leverage the best of the expanding technology choices available. Thank you for your service to Column5, and good luck to you in the future.
