Executive leadership has no idea what they're doing, and there's little to no communication from high up to the people/teams that actually get the work done. Some of the execs still live in an old view of the workplace where nobody not on their level is allowed to talk to them. There is no emphasis or work on any processes or long-term plan, and after 4 years straight of end of year layoffs, there's no way to grow because at the end of every year, a bunch of people are cut and all of your work gets thrown out the window to focus on some new thing that'll take you all of the next year to figure out because there's absolutely no contingency plan. If there is, you won't hear about it. And as much as Commerce likes to promote it's remote-friendly or hybrid-friendly workplace, a wave has come over full of full-time in-office supporters who want to ruin the culture and balance. If you can stand living with the anxiety that by each November you may be out of a job, sure, work here.
