Pros

The only pro I can think of is the salary.

Cons

**Job Review: A Disastrous Experience – Do Not Waste Your Time** I joined this company full of optimism after being sold a dream by management. I was promised career progression, an exciting training programme, and a clear path forward within the company, only for all of that to fall apart within a matter of weeks. Upon starting, it became painfully obvious that the so-called "training programme" was nothing more than a vague attempt to make it look like they were investing in their employees. I was handed a 187-page CHC Framework and told to sit down and read it. There was zero structure, no support, and no guidance. The promised training sessions never materialised, and instead, I was expected to navigate the complexities of my role alone, with no help from management or colleagues. To make matters worse, the company was constantly changing direction—shifting priorities from one day to the next, with no communication or clarity. The promises of rapid growth and expansion within 18 months quickly evaporated. A mere month after I was told that the company was going to double in size, I was made redundant with little explanation. It’s incredibly frustrating to have invested so much time and energy into a role that was ultimately doomed from the start. The lack of stability, transparency, and integrity from the leadership is staggering. If you value your career and want to work for a company with a solid foundation, I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re genuinely sorry to read that your time with Compass Continuing Healthcare did not meet your expectations. We’re particularly disappointed to hear that you felt unsupported during your onboarding and training. Our intention is always to provide structured induction, mentoring, and ongoing development — especially for Specialist Advisor roles, which require a strong understanding of the National Framework and associated processes. While independent reading of the CHC Framework forms part of building technical knowledge, it should sit alongside guided support, shadowing, and access to experienced colleagues. It’s clear from your feedback that this was not your experience, and for that we are sorry. You also mention concerns around changing priorities and redundancy. As a growing organisation operating within a complex and evolving healthcare landscape, there are occasions where business needs shift in response to external factors. However, we recognise that this can be unsettling, and we always aim to handle organisational changes transparently, fairly, and in line with consultation processes. We regret that you felt a lack of clarity during that period. We never want any team member to feel that promises were not fulfilled or that their contribution was undervalued. Feedback like yours is taken seriously and discussed at leadership level as part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen communication, improve structured training pathways, and ensure greater consistency in role expectations. We appreciate the time and energy you gave during your time with us and sincerely wish you every success in your future career.

Pros

It's great to work there to get started with your career post-university, and if you are able to work confidently remotely, then it certainly can be an ideal working situation. If you find that you are capable of writing without breaks for long hours, that is also a pro for a particular person.

Cons

You will miss having free time and will miss seeing other human beings due to catching up on all the work that you cannot necessarily complete in the work day. You will have to log anything you do almost every minute of every day. Management style leaves something to be desired fairly regularly, as it felt like I was on my own with my own qualms and issues that the job brings.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback and for the contribution you made during your time at Compass Continuing Healthcare. We’re pleased to hear that you found the role valuable as a starting point post-university and that remote working can provide an ideal setup for those who thrive in that environment. Supporting early-career professionals and providing meaningful responsibility is something we are proud of, and many of our team have progressed significantly from entry-level roles. That said, we are sorry to read about your experience regarding workload, work-life balance, and management support. Our intention is not for colleagues to feel they must regularly work beyond their hours or sacrifice personal time to keep up. The nature of CHC work can be demanding, but it should always be sustainable. We continually review caseload allocation and time-recording processes to ensure they are proportionate and supportive rather than burdensome. We are particularly concerned to hear that you felt alone with the challenges the role can bring. No one should feel unsupported. Developing managers who are approachable, patient, and proactive in advocating for their teams is a key focus for us, and feedback like yours highlights how important that is. We genuinely value reflections such as yours. They help us assess where processes, communication, and leadership development can improve — especially in a remote-first environment where connection requires more intentional effort. Thank you again for your honesty, and we wish you every success in your continued career.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for being part of Compass Continuing Healthcare. We’re pleased to hear that you value the opportunity we provide to graduates and the flexibility of fully remote working. Creating accessible career pathways and offering flexible roles is an important part of how we operate, particularly in making specialist CHC roles available to talented individuals across the UK. We are, however, concerned to read your comments regarding benefits and feeling that graduates are taken advantage of. That is certainly not our intention. We aim to offer competitive entry-level salaries, structured training, professional development, and clear progression routes. Many of our senior team members began their careers with us as graduates, and supporting long-term career growth is something we are proud of. That said, we recognise that expectations around benefits and packages evolve, and we continuously review our offering to remain fair and competitive. As a growing independent organisation, we work hard to balance sustainability with investment in our people, and constructive feedback like yours plays an important role in shaping improvements. If you would be open to it, we would genuinely welcome a direct conversation to better understand your concerns and suggestions around “reconstruction” so we can continue to strengthen the experience of our team. Thank you again for your honesty and contribution.
