Pros

Worst mistake of my life, won't recommend joining ContactOut to anyone

Cons

- Fake culture - Insecure, short-sighted & toxic leadership - Politics & partiality - Irresponsible management They have a pretty good culture doc with words like "autonomy", "freedom to experiment", and "psychological safety" - but the reality is completely opposite. They basically need ROBOTS that follow what's being told blindly, else you'll be called "forceful" and "unfit" for the company. Some so-called team leads become insecure when questioned objectively. If they run out of reasons- they'll just say you're overqualified for the job and fire you. How is having a wider skill stack & deeper expertise a blocker for the current role? It's not. People-pleasing leaders who are insecure, play politics, & who can't take responsibility are not actually leaders, they are CLOWNS. Save your mental peace & life, DO NOT join ContactOut!

Pros

No "pros" here to be honest

Cons

A bunch of people are complete hypocrites. No doubt why their average retention is 6 months- for a company that started in 2014! [almost 8 years back!] Some people pretend be so-called "fun-loving" but in reality are the biggest narcissists I've ever seen. Their fragile ego gets hurt when they see folks doing better than them. They would rather hire hypocrites who crack jokes every 10 minutes to impress the leadership over folks who actually have awesome core skills & expertise. The leadership is fond of setting high-targets in the OKRs, but team lacks the bandwidth & the capability to pull those off. Initially you may feel that you have opportunity & freedom to experiment and improve things but sooner or later the so called leadership will bash you for picking things outside the OKRs. I haven't seen bigger hypocrites because they are the same people, who, while interviewing, mentioned things like- complete freedom to pick your projects & complete freedom to experiment, etc. All lies.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We've recently started adapting OKRs as a way of creating more transparency and alignment around collective goals. Some days it works out well and some days are harder! One thing's for sure: the team tries its best to move forward with what we're doing well and what we can do better so we can all learn continuously. (That's also why it changes every quarter and some even overlap with the next quarter to give teams ample capacity to meet (or change) them While it's not a perfect space, we do encourage having courageous conversations with your manager to fully understand the scope and impact of OKRs and to help you align and prioritise new ones. Good intentions paired with constructive feedback that's shared respectfully, will always have a place here. We're sorry that this was your experience.
