Cons

This company seams to attract leadership that has fallen from grace elsewhere. Looking into my bosses backgrounds there, they all came from companies that got obliterated by competition. That leaves them frustrated and overly eager to prove themselves to their managers and the outside world by all means. Furthermore, the senior management seamed to be a gentlemen’s club with two things in common: 1. Trying to be like Steve jobs, even if that meant to shout at people and dress in the same clothes every day. 2. Have a personality disorder of some sort. Narcissism, anger attacks, mythomania, sociopathism... the entire spectrum is present. This company was a vendor to Confirm n’aimer electronics companies and tries to ride on that success wave while they are desperately looking for the next disruptive invention. Exactly that despair divides their attention so much that each developer must focus on too many things with unreasonable deadlines (develop disruptive tech in 2 weeks, rather than 5 years). When results are insufficient, the only management instruments are punishment, burning out people and eventually firing the entire team. So many people come and go there all the time. I was so happy that I could leave voluntarily as soon as they threatened me. In fact, I knew I would leave this company 2 weeks after I joined and saw that this company has an HR issue. For example, after signing on, they forced me to sign another contract with a lower salary. The first contract stated a higher salary for ensure a work permit from the immigration department. After speaking internally with peers it turned out that they force people into lower pay regularly when they see they have that leverage, e.g. when employees are being relocated to another work location.
