Pros

none at all - it's not a job - you are a self employed tout for someone elses business and you cant even bill for your time

Cons

everything - being lied to about how you are going to be working a patch that hasn't been done for years only to find you cant visit x y or z company because they signed up two months ago. Being given a patch with only 500 elligible businesses who answer with things like 'not you lot again' discovering that the product is actually worthless and there are many better alternatives that companies already use discovering the company is so far out of date its laughable discovering this commision only job keeps the owner in new jags while everyone else effectively works for free. Even if you miraculously make some money you will run out of prospects within four weeks . .

e appreciate comments but find it hard to believe that you worked full-time at The Credit Protection Association (CPA) as a salesperson, because experience proves if you had worked full-time and followed the recommended procedures, you could have been highly successful. Indeed, you would have made a very good income for yourself as so many other hundreds of people have done over the years we have assisted them to have successful careers. Rather than raise issues with us directly, unfortunately you have chosen to write anonymously so we never had the opportunity to address issues that you felt you had. Frankly, what you say is inaccurate and untruthful. All our salespeople are given exclusive territories which each have a minimum of 12,000 live eligible businesses to prospect who are not present members of CPA. We break up the United Kingdom into less than 90 sales territories so we cannot fathom how you can claim to have only 500 eligible businesses available. We do encourage our sales persons to break their territories into three zones and only work one zone at a time in order to prevent unnecessary traveling. But even then, each zone would contain thousands of businesses. We sell to all types of businesses that sell on credit and it is our interests to provide our salespersons with viable territories. Again, you make a blatant untruth in saying that the product is “worthless”, because, as so many thousands of happy commercial users have found, the success rate on overdue account recovery exceeds 80% of all accounts submitted; also the credit reports, instantly obtainable by clients, are amongst the best in the marketplace. Have the courage to reveal your name and I as Managing Director of CPA will be pleased to meet with you and discuss your time with CPA in a proper, business-like manner

Pros

There really aren't any, unless you really want a decade old laptop and second rate business cards..

Cons

Scripted sales patter. No deviation allowed. Most businesses are covered by the telephone protection system or tps meaning you can't sell to a business without having actually visited the premises. This adds a huge cost to your expenses which aren't covered at all. Even though you're told an area is virgin and hasn't been hit before you'll find that people call you tony and say "still no" overall the only winners here are the people who pay you nothing to make them money. Avoid wasting your time and money and avoid like the plague. Or should I say you'd like to avoid them like the plague,,,wouldn't you,,,,,?

I am sorry to read your review and I can see you were not at all suited to the role. As a self-employed agent you were free to use your own laptop if you preferred and were to free to provide business cards to your own liking. The laptop you were provided was sufficient to perform the tasks required of it. You were trained to use a scripted sales pitch to assist you as a new recruit to present our services in the proper way without misrepresenting the company. As you gained experience and greater understanding of our services greater leeway would have been given. Yes our calls are filtered to block cold calls to telephone numbers registered under the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) as this is the law. However it is a fact that only a minority of business numbers are on the register. I am sorry too that it was your experience that everyone you talked to already knew of us. However with business needs changing, companies moving, new companies forming every week and the average territory including around 12,000 businesses, even if your territory had recently been worked, there should have been plenty of people for you to contact. I don't understand your comment that we were the overall winners, paying you nothing to make us money. If you were not able to sell our services then both of us lost out. What money did we make? The laptop, phones, offices, training and recruitment and support all cost us money and we only receive subscriptions if you are successful. Our model is based on mutual success.

Pros

Non, I do not think it will survive much longer, all cold calling and nobody is remotely interested in the product

Cons

A terrible waste of time, if your desperate still don't bother. An awful experience, that will cost you money, self respect and dent your confidence

I am sorry to read your review and hear that you couldn't make it work,. You say that nobody is interested in our product but our sales figures would say otherwise. I am sorry though that for whatever reason you personally were unable to generate interest in our service. Thankfully others can. We have been around for over 100 years now thanks to our successful formula and hopefully will be around for 100 more. I hope your confidence and self respect have been since restored and you have been able to find something you are better suited to.
