Pros

Benefits and PTO were decent. Pay was about average or just slightly above for the field.

Cons

-You are not valued as a worker or a human being; you are expected to perform miracles with little to no resources, and when the leadership team changes the company's vision (multiple times a year), your position can be eliminated for no reason and with no notice. Entire departments have been fired en masse. There is always a fear that you'll be next. -When mistakes are made, big or small, you're called out in front of the entire company. The CEO and upper management will belittle you without hesitation. -Values the company tries to promote like "transparency" and "fighting for customers" are empty promises. Everyone works in a bubble. It's all about making money using whatever means possible, for better or worse. -Changes to UI and how the company as a whole is run are made with no notice, no checks and balances, and not shared with all the teams. Something is always broken on the site. Overall, this was the most toxic work environment I've ever been a part of.

Great opportunity -- not for everyone

Pros

Company is growing, customers love the product, and we're a positive force of change and disruption in an industry in desperate need of it. What Crowd Cow is doing is great for small independent farms and rural communities, as well as for conscious meat-eaters. Plenty of room and runway to tackle big opportunities and prove your value, make a name/ bet-on yourself. Team in general is extremely high-performing and everyone holds themselves to a very high bar. The meat is great, and so are the in-office tastings.

Cons

Ruthless sink-or-swim culture. This is a place for confident type A's. You need to be onboard, get in line, smile and contribute at a high-level. No focus or discipline when it comes to prioritization. Very "we need to do all of the things". Decision making is very dependent on subjective opinions and not data driven. Data and reporting in general is a bit of a mess. Benefits are very weak. No subsidized transit, no 401k (to say nothing of a match) and expensive healthcare options. Comp is lower than average for industry because you have the privilege of working for fastest, hottest consumer-retail startup in Seattle.

Worst Job I've Ever Had

Pros

Yummy meat and fair comp.

Cons

Abrasive and toxic environment. Leadership is SO bad at this place. If you have a talent or an opinion, too bad, it's not going to matter. They need to hire a bunch of college interns and tell them exactly what and how to do everything and have them do it like robots. The CEO yells at people and dresses them down in front of everyone. I saw many employees burst into tears and run out of the room.
