Pros

I met some of the most amazing people here, who are so talented and adaptable - and have become friends for life.

Cons

The reason you become friends so quickly is because of the shared disbelief that a company can operate like this. It is toxic. Unfortunately, it is lead by people who don't know what they are doing, the CEO likes to change people's job roles without warning so you have people who have gone from reception or personal assistant to the heading up an entire department without any experience. So, when he hires people who actually know what they're doing it's met with the wildest hostility and anger. The atmosphere is horrific, you have miserable staff shouting at each other, kicking things, passive aggression at every turn. When there's no shouting, it's deathly silent - where all you can hear is the bitter muttering of certain staff members. Whilst there, you can't do your job properly because, even if you explain why things have to be done a certain way, the CEO thinks he knows best and will just do it himself - which is .... interesting.

Pros

Fully Remote Working (in some positions) Pay - You get it on time There are some genuinely lovely people in the business that I feel sorry for.

Cons

Okay strap in, this may take a while. Firstly I’d like to caveat this by stating I had read all of the reviews of this business before joining Cuts Ice, as with most things I like to take onboard peoples feedback but draw conclusions based on my own experience, this was my first mistake. I tried to give the business the benefit of the doubt, based on the experiences within my interviews and first 10months in the business, worst decision EVER and now I’m stuck here! You will read reviews on this platform about the CEO and his “complex” personality, this is the understatement of the century. You dont know which version of the CEO you are getting its very much dependant on which side of bed he gets out of is complex to say the least. He is a fine example of a 90’s Micromanager that uses anger and fear to run his business. He is involved in everything, but actually knows or understands very little. The business is archaic, has brands that no-one wants due to multiple factors, but most importantly doesn’t allow experts in there role to actively make the business better. Change is met with resistance, alongside this, one minute your building out a project, believe your about to start the implementation phase only for you to be removed and the project stoped. I’ve personally seen this happen to multiple people, and it’s simply a way of saying we don’t want to change. The business has a toxic culture, with an even more toxic senior leadership team. A CFO that has 0 people skills. They will remove anyone, without notice, without any feedback, just like Cillit Bang - and the person is gone. No probation review meetings, no PDP, nothing... Just your exit planned behind your back, with your peers probably knowing before you do. I could write paragraphs for days about some of the behaviour of the CEO, CFO and others but, I don’t have the mental capacity any more. If like me, you read this and still accept a job with this business and want to give them a chance, good luck! You will need it, the negative reviews on here are entirely accurate.

Pros

If you happen to meet 1 or 2 colleagues that you really like and that understands the craziness of this place. Then hold on to that person really tight and never let go. Your going to need to that support system to help you get through your daily job. Otherwise you will just be alone by yourself and you will end up leaving sooner than when you joined.

Cons

**PRE-WARNING** : Whatever you have been told . Whoever (recruiter) has buttered you up and told you 1 or 2 of these things listed below : "This company is going through change" "We are expanding the team" "We are excited to see the growth plans for the future" "It's Extremely exciting" "There's a bonus package" I'll tell you now. JUST DONT DO IT. Delete any emails from this company and move it to the spam/junk mail. Infact just block it out of your memory. As far as your aware you never applied for the job. CEO ***** The CEO has no clue on how to run a business, build relationships or sustain them. From his complex personality to the daily outburst of anger, he does not have the ability or skills to take the company to the next level. He likes to involve himself in every aspect of the business and that means everything has to be done his way. He loves to tell people their ideas are useless but can never come up with an alternative himself. So many new people with skills have come and gone because Nigel can not be helped. Nigel claims to want to hear open feedback , however the moment you tell him your thoughts - your next on the chopping block and fired shortly. TEAMS ********* Many departments are very disjointed which causes major confusion on what everyone is suppose to be doing. Alot of team members end up leaving the organisation. WORK ENVIRONMENT: ************************* If you are considering working in an environment that sucks the life out of you then please do join. BENEFITS : ************ What Benefits ? Summary *********** If your looking for career progression, this isn't the right place for you. There is a high turn over of staff within the company which is very abnormal. You can end up being fired at any given time and it so happens that Friday seems to be the chopping block day. There's a reason why everyone has left a review, please take it on board!
