Terrible management in the Grant's Administration Unit. Too many chiefs and not enough people actually working on the projects. Management have their favorites, unethical and inappropriate behavior towards their employees, always on a power trip. Multiple staff have complained respectfully against certain managers yet no solutions have been made. The people who move up in this unit have either 1. Been there forever but may not actually have the skills or certifications needed for the promotion or 2. They suck up to managers.

Highly politicized work environment, upper-level management without appropriate work experience. The result is that management has virtually no practical experience in the areas they're charged with in supervising lower-level employees. Main mission of DASNY is construction and finance of public/non-profit facilities. When I started working there, any departments not directly doing those activities supported those activities. The entire staff throughout the state was approximately 200 employees. It is now well over 800 employees, even though the total value of construction and finance has decreased. Its mission has become muddled, to say the least.
