Pros

Bitter experience working in DNV GL after compromising a lot on personal front

Cons

Lots of regional inequality in DNV India, if you are applying job in O&G you should be a South Indian, for Finance you should be Maharashtruan Brahmin and for HR you should be Catholic, everybody in this company trying to promote their own cast and religion, they will not give second chance to ex-employees, However there has not one but more incidents were ex employees were selected and appointed and even offered higher position like country chair, very cheap level of politics, they will ready to compromise on knowledge and experience if you are belongs to desired cast and religion.

Pros

Nothing is good about this organisation, if you are looking for a long association , this is a wrong place to be .

Cons

I feel compelled to share some serious observations regarding our current workplace environment, as they could significantly impact our team’s morale and productivity. It has become increasingly apparent that the leadership style within the organization is toxic, creating an atmosphere where individuals struggle to thrive. Support functions are often mistreated, and office politics are pervasive, making it challenging for employees to feel valued or secure in their roles. Moreover, despite the company's public commitment to mental health, these initiatives seem limited to the headquarters and do not extend to all employees equally. This discrepancy raises concerns about genuine support for our well-being across the organization. Additionally, management's coercive approach fosters a culture of fear among staff members. The use of threats and inappropriate language has been disheartening and undermines a healthy work environment. I believe it is crucial for us to address these issues collectively and advocate for a more supportive and respectful workplace culture.

Pros

. You've lots of avenues to learn (in most departments) and experienced colleagues. . Friendly and helpful colleagues overall. Less office politics compared to other companies. . Good ethical base - much of the culture from the Det Norske Veritas days still exists as a solid foundation which i hope is preserved . Documented procedures for everything! Well, an example of practising what the company preaches

Cons

. Work life balance goes for a toss with excessive travel - story of every auditing/consulting job i guess, but could expect better. Country management is fine as long as profits come in I guess . Favouritism and less value to merit - may not exist in your department, but the effect may still emanate from other departments . Excessive focus on targets? Well, some folks have to feel this pressure to a greater extent while others chill without achieving them/ fulfilling paltry targets (favouritism again). Let me also say, most of the emphasis on revenue is killing the quality of service being provided . Salary vs tenure - sad to say, loyalty and a longer tenure doesn't reward you here too! (Forget the paltry Rs. 10,000 voucher for a ten year service - which they forget as well!) . A lot of people do say the company is a bad paymaster and i can confirm this, right from the start. Benefits are meh too. . Beware if you're subjected to unsubstantiated performance improvement plans! Get out of the toxicity asap, or hold on and fight if you have the bandwidth. It seems this 'novel' way to force out people has seeped in here as well. I received one after completing my targets for the year and receiving good ratings in previous appraisals.
