Pros
Excellent benefits, including: vacation leave, sick leave, tuition reimbursement, & semi-annual bonuses. Decent wages paid per tier. Associate benefits (preferred exchange rate, lack of fees) helpful. Lots of opportunities to learn more about business & banking from both domestic & international perspectives. Great working hours at non-"mall" locations.
Cons
Recent changes/ "crack-downs" on policies & procedures were not only overwhelming, but were also inconsistently applied & incoherently written. Upper management, in-branch management, & general retail positions often lack good communication channels; "coaching" principles rarely applied. Difficult to reprimand or demote those incapable of meeting socially-accepted "requirements" of supervisory roles (many "old-timers" kept around &/or promoted despite it being common knowledge that said individuals lack acceptable report with colleagues, understanding of policies & procedures, etc.). Can be difficult to get promoted, depending on branch's size & Local National-to-Non-Sponsored ratio. Lack of true or honest understanding about military life/experiences by Upper Management, leading to messy, complicated, &/or impractical policies & procedures
