Great human-first workplace

Pros

The CEO has done a great job of building a people-first culture that really puts humans at the center. Work-life balance is valued, everyone works hard, but there’s plenty of flexibility with where and when you work. The team is full of genuinely good people, which makes it easy to collaborate, share ideas, and feel supported. You’ll be surrounded by world-class experts, so there’s always something new to learn every day.

Cons

There might be some uncertainty around how the IMDEX acquisition will play out.

Pros

Datarock is a great company if you’re looking for an organisation of smart, passionate and caring people, yes it’s not the largest organisation which is great if you’re looking to settle in quickly. When I started it was quite busy, a number of exciting projects to get your teeth stuck in to and lots of learning, I managed to pick a up little bit of machine learning which I hadn’t really touch previously which was cool. It’s quite a flat structure business with no micromanagement, as the team grew the support structure matured quite a bit as well from when I first started.

Cons

Not many cons, maybe it was a little too busy when I first started, however they were still growing and another 3 engineers were hired after me to take some load off the team which really helped

Pros

Very interesting tech space, uses machine learning.

Cons

No proper onboarding. I raised that I wasn't given a proper walk-though of their very complex tool. I was expected to complete my tasks without having the understanding how their tool functioned. It made doing tasks extra cumbersome as I had to navigate a tool that was complex. I even tried to understand it through the code but it was very poorly written. Leadership skills are non existent at this company. There was just one check-in meeting, No follow ups and feedback loops. I was not set up for success. Two months in, my employment was terminated and there was absolutely no empathy in their communication. When I raised that I was unwell, it was down played and dismissed. I was told "you'll find another job soon" - dismissive of my personal circumstance and the difficult journey it is to find a job.
