Thank you for sharing your feedback and for recognising the growth opportunities, bonus, health benefits, travel, and inclusive culture at Deriv. It's great to hear these aspects of your experience are landing well. We hear your concerns around job security and contract terms. As a growing organisation, we regularly reassess our workforce needs and structure roles in line with business requirements. We understand that contract terms can sometimes feel uncertain, and we are committed to ensuring that all employees have clear visibility of their employment conditions from the outset. Regarding compensation structures, including what applies at the end of a contract, these are guided by local employment regulations and the specific terms agreed upon at the point of hiring. We continuously review our policies to ensure they remain fair and compliant across all our locations. If you have specific questions or concerns about your contract or employment terms, we encourage you to connect directly with your department's Talent Partner from the HR team who will be best placed to provide clarity and support. Your input is invaluable in our continuous efforts to enhance the work environment at Deriv.

Pros

Supportive and hardworking colleagues who are doing their best despite the challenges

Cons

- Toxic work culture - High employee turnover - Perceived favoritism and bias As an A player and high performing employee, I would not recommend joining this company based on my experience. Management has encouraged employees to leave positive Glassdoor reviews in response to the company's low rating. Personally i believe employee reviews should be authentic and reflect genuine experiences rather than being influenced by leadership. The work environment is highly toxic and employee concerns are often dismissed instead of being addressed. There appears to be a disconnect between leadership's perception of workplace issues and the reality experienced by many employees. One unusual aspect of the organization is that there are two CFOs. In my experience, there has been a lack of clarity regarding responsibilities and decision-making within the finance leadership team. At times, one of the CFOs appeared to rely heavily on managers and team leads to respond to finance related questions from senior management. The finance department has experienced significant turnover with many employees leaving due to concerns about leadership, perceived favoritism and management practices. The turnover has been substantial enough that the company has reportedly rehired former MSS employees to fill gaps created by employee departures and staffing shortages.

We recognise that candid employee perspectives, including critical ones, are essential to building a stronger organisation. Regarding the concerns around workplace culture and employee feedback, we are committed to ensuring that all employees feel heard and that concerns are addressed through the appropriate channels rather than dismissed. On the points raised about leadership clarity and decision-making, we acknowledge that organisational structures can evolve as a company scales, and we recognise the importance of clearly defined responsibilities and accountabilities at all levels of leadership. This is an area we are actively working to improve. Regarding turnover within the finance function, we take this feedback seriously.
