Pros

When you are allowed independence projects make money, decent salary, talented mid level staff (if they stay)

Cons

Stolen design ideas, mistrust of work, belittling of design staff, miscommunication, bargain bin design prices, tense work environment, atypical tenant improvement design delivery standards, no 401k, benefits are only ok for young, single, healthy people.

REVIEW OVER 10 YEARS OLD: Companies (and people) change in a decade. Call or email Blitz to find out what we've been up to since 2014 (it's a lot), how we've grown, and where we can go together if you join us. We have a 401-k with 4% match, and offer excellent healthcare coverage (you can choose from Kaiser or Blue Shield), as well dental and vision. HC starts the first of the month btw - not after a trial period. We also offer a robust bonus program. We don't 'steal design ideas' (whatever that means), but we do have high standards. Our clients hire us to deliver high quality projects and documents. It's not for everyone, but if it sounds like it's for you, connect with us and we'll chat about it. Seth Hanley, Founding Partner.

Did not enjoy my time at Blitz

Pros

Half day Fridays Generally good coworkers (bonded over the absurdity of senior management)

Cons

Hostile working environment Never know what kind of mood the CEO will be in, which breeds fear High employee turnover Designs are nothing special These excerpts from other reviews are laughable, not to mention threatening in nature: "If you are up to the task." "If you just want to screw around all day, you will not survive here." "You get out what you put in." The fact is that the work is not all that challenging (no different than any other interiors firm). Poor senior management and an atmosphere of intimidation is what makes people leave.

Message from Design Blitz (not an accounting and tax company): We live in an age of online reviews – work, food, movies, everything. Regardless of the accuracy (or inaccuracy) of these reviews, we generally value the experience of other humans, and we’ll read what someone else has to say. But experiences are personal, we rarely know anything about the person writing the review (particularly anonymous reviews), and we don’t know what their motivation is. I’ve found that curious, thoughtful, creative people ask questions. They keep reading even when they find information that supports or challenges their opinion, and they experience things for themselves, because there’s always more to know. This is how we grow, and how we learn. So, in that spirit, if you read a bad review about blitz on here (we’re not perfect – no organization is), just reach out. Ask us questions about it. This way you can make an informed decision of your own. It could be easy to let other people that you don’t know, and may never meet, make important career decisions for you (or decide what you eat, or what you watch) but I don’t recommend it. You might miss out on something that works for you but didn’t for someone else. So, pick up the phone, or send us an email. The conversation may go something like this: “hey – I’m interested in the position you’re advertising, but I read some bad reviews about your company on Glass Door and it’s making me have second thoughts about applying. Can we talk through it, as it may influence my final employment decision”. We will be happy to talk with you about your concerns, what we’ve been doing and continue to do, to make it a great place to work. We can also talk about how you can help us with that. We’d love to hear from you. Seth Hanley, Founding Partner.

Pros

Taco Tuesday, Beer on Fridays, across the street from AT&T Park. Good Salary

Cons

Small office with no private space. Everyone sits at the same table so if you leave to stretch or make a personal phone call, everyone will want to know where you're going. No 401k. They take credit for other employees designs....then they'll let you go before the project is built
