Pros

Sometimes lunch is catered. Coooool? Some truly well-intentioned individuals who should definitely be working elsewhere.

Cons

TL; DR - Don't bother. A disorganized mess created by stubborn, shortsighted, and cheap management in total denial of the state of things. This place is the burning house meme come to life. "This is fine!" A toxic culture pretending to be woke, with the kind of voluntary turnover rate that you'd expect from a minimum wage employer. It would almost be laughable if it weren't so stressful and sad to witness. You will not be properly trained. You will not have the right tools to be effective. Expectations will not be clearly communicated. Management will not invest in your growth, development, or success. You will not be supported on projects. There are no qualified people left to support you. Read the Glassdoor reviews and seriously consider their merit. Design Science does not deserve your talents and best efforts.

Pros

- If you are new to human factors or user research, Design Science can be a good place to start as you will get exposure to a large number of projects in a short amount of time, which may be a good selling point when applying for jobs in the future - Most employees are young, friendly, and outgoing - Management will arrange some well thought out social events from time to time

Cons

- Management runs this company like a sweatshop. You will constantly be judged on the amount of time it'll take to complete a task and your manager will always think you're taking too long - Management values efficiency over quality - Management keeps introducing new rules and procedures which are a waste of time and stress out already overworked employees - Staff are overworked and underpaid given the multiple projects, unreasonable deadlines, and constant sucking up to the client - Employees are fired randomly and asked to leave the same day, even when they are in the middle of a project. In some instances, the firing process was very disrespectful where fired employees were not allowed to even take their stuff back from their desks (so that other employees were not "discouraged" looking at them) - Promotions are quite random and simply based on the leadership’s whim, with a lot of deserving employees not getting promoted for years. If you don’t get promoted within the first 2 years, likely never going to happen - ~ 80% of projects are boring and repetitive. 95% of all projects are related to usability testing. If you want diversity in your work, this is not the place to be - Recent management changes have made this company unbearable and that has led to an exodus of very experienced and talented employees
