Pros
The company has a unique, positive, and active culture. Everyone is really talented and easy to get along with. Management is flat, company health and operations are transparent, management communication is frequent, and office decisions are made as a group. Salaries are competitive, professional development opportunities are frequent (training courses, conferences, etc.), and the benefits (health, dental, and 401k) are good for such a small company. The company has experienced 80% annual growth for the past 6 years creating plenty of career opportunities. Friday company-sponsored lunches are a nice way to meet everyone, the dress policy is casual, the kitchen is fully stocked with snacks and beer, and you can always play ping pong, foosball, or videos games to blow off some steam. Employees enjoy hanging out with each other outside of work, and the company sponsors monthly activities like camping, games nights, and sporting events. The company also creates its own apps to improve working processes (Devbridge TV, PowerUp App, etc.) which makes client engagement and communication much easier. Designers are very creative and the development team is extremely talented.
Cons
The designer and project management teams work in Chicago, while the development teams works in Lithuania. This introduces some operational constraints (time offset, language hurdles, etc.), and occasionally causes some project delays.
