Thankless role

Pros

If you have a good team to work with, you'll be able to deal with a lot of the non-sense thrown your way.

Cons

It's a thankless role where you're required to complete tasks outside of your job description. You're expected to focus on so much that you have a difficult time focusing on your assigned location. Common sense isn't very common. You're expected to fit a square peg into a round hole. When you do, senior management gets the credit.

Pros

Received a holiday bonus every year

Cons

-benefits are terrible, can't even afford to go to the doctor or get a cavity filled, that was after working for the company for several years -starting pay is not enough to survive on in the area which is ridiculous considering you are taking care of people -negligence and neglect by staff and management alike is rampant throughout the agency -whistleblowers who call out neglect and abuse are bullied and taunted until they quit, sometimes even after -I was encouraged to lie to Justice Center interviewers many times -I was encouraged to lie to parents and other family members of those I supported on several occasions -I was encouraged to cover up medication errors where individuals received too much medication or did not receive their meds at all, on several occasions -Have to work with lazy staff and apathetic management so if you are a hard worker prepare to be taken advantage of until you are burned out and hate coming to work -Management makes it very clear they don't care about you and will say to your face that you are just a body and are replaceable -management is very immature and hard to work with, likes to play favorites a lot so if you're not it then you will not get anywhere -I have worked in this field since graduating high school and I have to say this place sucked every ounce of enthusiasm I had for this field out of my soul.
