How do I explain working at Devlnd? 1 boss is a complete egotistical, money driven owner (can't really say boss as he hardly ever shows up and when he does he lets you know how bad you are at your job then leaves). The 2nd Boss is a complete wet wipe, he does whatever the 1st boss says, doesn't stick up for himself or his members of staff meaning that as a employee you have to stick up for yourself. If you stick up for yourself most of the time it ends in arguements because both bosses don't want to listen. You don't get to show ideas, or if you do the bosses take credit for the ideas as if they came up with them. You never get credit, or appreciation for the huge amounts of work you do in a small amount of time which leaves you completely deflated. They make people redundent including apprentices because they don't know how to run a business. If you do an apprenticeship you figure it out via Google not the inside help you should get, this means that what you're doing may or may not be right. Don't even think about asking for help because you will be wasting your breath, despite the amount of times the bosses tell you to ask them questions, they either don't know the answer or they are too busy and get moody with you, resulting in, yes you guessed it, googling it, so save a breath and do that in the first place. You will work with software you've never heard of because they use the cheapest ones possible. You become so mentally drained that you take time off (which is minimum time) and then they ask you what you're doing, which is fine until you start going to interviews to get out of there but a good excuse is relaxing. I have cried at least once a month while in work because the attitude given and the responsibilities given don't add up. You're treated like a 5 year old with 50+ jobs to do, no time frame and no guidance on how they want it, except when you do, do something it's wrong (tell me in the first place then this wouldn't be an issue). If you suffer with confidence DONT GO HERE because you will leave with no confidence on a job you've been "trained" to do. There's no incentives and hardly ever any trips out with the company, if there is trips out you normally have to pay. We did a few quiz nights where we paid for the quiz and our drinks yet the bosses were addiment we had to come. You will also find a lot of dodgy things going on, like selling out of date products, selling products on places like Amazon and eBay that shouldn't be sold on there and selling from third party companies. The facilities, the place itself is dirty. The bathrooms are full of mold, and constantly smell, the warehouse is full of leaks in the roof and spiders, it's freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer. The heating needs to be put on hours ahead of time to work but can only be put on when you get in because the managers have said it's a waste of money. The warehouse are allowed their heater on once a day for an hour then have to deal with the cold and "wrap up" (yes they have actually been told to do that) and in the summer it becomes so hot you have fans but all that does is mix the pollen and create hayfever sneezes. If you don't mind cleaning the kitchen aily you'll be fine otherwise it ends up being a complete mess with coffee and tea stains everywhere, one of the bosses leaves his glasses lying around everywhere sometimes for WEEKS AT A TIME and they become moldy. There's no point sitting in the kitchen at lunch because it either smells (as no one puts the extractor fan on) or is freezing cold. They have a cleaner who does bare minimum and therefore makes it worse. If you want a job that gives you minimum pah for maximum workload, a place full of guys (I won't say men), with minimum holidays, hardly any work nights out, a lot of stress (like more stress than you get paid) and very little experience except negative experience about working in the industry then this is the job for you.
