There are still a few great employees they have yet to let go or forced to quit (for now)

Upper management is blatantly dishonest to staff and treats them like they are utter idiots, keep in mind, these are the staff who have been responsible for all of the company's success despite management making stupid decisions that are now leading to the company's demise. Management shows an absolute lack of responsibility for their own actions and are quick to throw others under the bus when it all comes falling down. Some members of management are also very unprofessional and HR is useless.
