Worst agency to work in

Pros

It was a decent place back in 2016 becoming worse and worse

Cons

Was working on one of the US projects in that agency remotely for a long time. In 2022 its CEO Andrey Kudievskiy decided to fire all Russian employees (instead of relocating them) to avoid sanctions from US Government. However Distillery overcomes sanctions by opening LLC in US for Russian employees remotely and continue working with them. It is reported already and will be investigated accordingly. People treated like resources in that agency, no matter how long and hard you were working - you have no chances to salary increase. This parasitic company is just an agent who is trying to sell cheap Russian/Mexican staff as expensive Senior developers to US startups. There are overtimes that are not paid but happen almost every week. Management is not helping you if you have any issue with client, deal with it by yourself. The company has constant staff turnover because nobody likes working there.

Pros

To be fair, there was some intent to have an internal values and culture, they were very exact about the payments and seemed to be very experienced to deal with software developers, the people was initially kind but there was always a clear difference between client environment and consultancy environment.

Cons

Completely toxic working environment, Distillery presence were nonexistent and there was always a "emergency issue" or "performance week metric" you never reach (even if i worked more than the expected 40 hours in a week). Seemed to me like a cheap foreign developer trap. Please make sure to negotiate a very good economic conditions at first because you'll be working long hours without any recognition here. To me, didn't worth having a great compensation (after they know i was about to quit) number if you need to sacrifice your mental health in the process.
