Pros

The company was located nearby.

Cons

Public company - Only maintain around $20,000 in the bank! Seriously (you can look it up). Old school mentality. Not a world class, progressive, cutting edge company by any means. They have more of a stereotypical small town manufacturing mentality (probably why they are so cash poor, high turnover, and had to sell off parts of the company). They say excellent 401k, but it only matches at approx 17%. They also say that they are very associate centered... but when asked if there was any flexibility with the work hours, they became visibly upset, accounting management told me that they had a laptop for me so that I could work from home in the evenings (after I got off from my normal shift). I was hired to put in a new costing system, but after two months on the job I had not worked on the “new” system at all. Turns out they have been putting in the “new” system for over five years (the new costing system has not been implemented in any parts of the company at all). Instead of working on system implementation, I was given multiple plant accounting and other responsibilities due to the high turnover in accounting. In a two month period, I saw quite a few positions become vacant within this small company’s accounting department - including accounting management. There were no plans to replace all the empty positions.

Pros

A very good company to work with. My four years with the company were most challenging and enjoyable. Plant consolidations are often necessary and can negatively impact some. In this case, it was me.

Cons

There are some politics as with any organization. Otherwise, no negatives.

Pros

Hard work and dedication go a long way with this company. One of the few carpet manufacturers out there that continue to instill an entrepeneurial spirit within each individual. They continue to invest in product in a down economy, giving sales the tools to grow business and take market share when, at times that seems like an impossible task.

Cons

I am sure there are some but this is the best company in the industry to work for.
