Corporate hiring blunders lead to resignation

Pros

I don't know anything. Everything has changed.

Cons

In my 20-year career, I have never witnessed a more ridiculous corporate hiring blunder. A candidate at EROAD was explicitly tagged as "no hire" by an interviewer, yet somehow advanced to the next round anyway. To make matters worse, that same skeptical interviewer was invited to the panel meeting, only to be humiliatingly kicked out mid-interview by a higher-ranking manager who wanted the candidate pushed through. The candidate was ultimately hired, leading to the ultimate corporate irony: the original interviewer was forced to report to the very person they had rejected. Unsurprisingly, that reporting line didn't last long, and the interviewer promptly resigned.

Pros

Some great people are still there.

Cons

4 days working from the office is mandatory, which may not suit everyone. At the same time, not enough desks and parking spaces, so people have to work on benches. Since 2024, the engineering department has undergone significant changes that have impacted morale and stability. Redundancies have occurred multiple times and, in some cases, appeared to be based on role/title rather than performance. At the same time, leadership restructuring has increased costs while some employee benefits were reduced. There are also concerns about management style and communication in certain teams, including reports of unprofessional behaviour. Some hiring decisions have raised concerns about favouritism rather than merit-based selection. Candidates should be aware of ongoing organisational changes and potential instability.
