Pros
The people are great - you don't just have colleagues, but, in some cases, best friends. If lucky and junior, you can learn a lot from the people around you. Great place for interns, in particular! Given great responsibility from the start.
Cons
No clear and coordinated direction or strategy - absence of leadership from the upper management. Communication a particular problem in the company at large - over-sharing by most people to look good, and a lack of structure to communication channels, means that important information is often lost in the storm and that time is wasted. Big discrepancies in salaries (although being worked on). Salaries generally are quite low for jr. and mid-level staff.
