Pros

The catered lunch once a week, pets ok at the office, snacks on Fridays. That's about it.

Cons

This should be a warning to prospective employers and to any bank or VC firm interested in investing in this company. Upper management are all woefully inadequate and under qualified to be in the position that they're in. The founders have had ZERO prior management experience and it painfully shows in their lack of leadership skills. Our engineering department head, the CTO, has zero experience leading engineering and Google search his way to trying to model the org based on other companies without understanding anything about engineering structures, limitations, or the differences in businesses that he tries to compare us to. He's completely clueless. The new CEO, if you do your research and look him up on Linkedin, you'll see he also has never been a C-level before nor run a business. The other review that points out the nitpicking is so true and it comes from the top. The CEO is obsessed about how our desks look rather than figuring out how to save this miserable sinking ship. He should really never step foot in a tech organization. I seriously doubt the validity of his work history given the lack of fundamental tech skills he has. You feel sorry for the rest of the C-level execs, especially the new hires. It'll be a full time babysitting job to please the CEO's odd requests. For the rest of us, we're just here to pretend to work hard while we look for other jobs.

Great culture and ready to evolve - gaslighting much?

Pros

You will never want for work, for every 3 employees, 1 employee does all of the work.

Cons

This place is a cesspit, run! I honestly think the people team or an SLT wrote the "Great culture and ready to evolve" review to lift each other's lowly spirits. Outside of the founders, the SLT appear to have given up, and can't be bothered with making decisions or uplifting their people. Which is a shame because people are hard working, decent individuals. The people team is not doing a great job for our culture, they started this weird chain of command, where managers have no voice unless they're a senior leader. They also removed the majority of our black employees in the beginning of 2021, needless to say all the talk about DEI is performative, and there is no support from leadership other than a "like" on posts. On top of our 10+ hour days we are forced to participate in monthly surveys that yield no results. I've written numerous suggestions on how the company can improve and have seen no attempts to make the situation better. The bar is really low, they report out on what other companies are doing with zero insight into what is happening at EZT or tying it back to our mandated survey results. So no employee understands what is happening at EZT, which leads me and others to believe it is either really bad or these stooges don't know what they're doing. What does SLT do other than from google articles and enforce rules as if we're a 5,000 person company (we're 150+). They flood slack channels with countless articles weekly or are completely MIA. Newsflash, we can google during the day too, but fortunately for EZ texting we work, unfortunately for our families, the clock never stops. I am afraid the layoffs were not complete, they let go 50+ people and our revenue is relatively the same. Was finance not paying bills previously or did SLT reward themselves for upturning the company? We are all running on fumes and they are willing to burn us out, since it's not clear whether they have the experience to do anything.

Pros

Great people who work hard and often go above and beyond their job title to help others around them.

Cons

Pay is below industry standard. They recently laid off about 30 employees with no warning or explanation. Lots of these people were in sales and had been exceeding their goals month over month. WHY you ask? Because the company hasn't paid taxes in years and is desperate to do anything they can to stay afloat. Why not lay off the CFO or someone actually in charge of this f up? This company is so unorganized and the future is not bright. They will get rid of talented people at the drop of a hat to try to cover up their own mistakes. There is no job security here and I guarantee lots of current employees are trying to find a way out of this sinking ship.
