I loved my management job at Sprint, until this unethical company came in and bought out the store. I was optimistic at first as they told us our schedule (where we would have better hours for work life balance) and kept telling us "We are going to make you so much money." I was making good money already, raking in commission checks as I grew my store 100% YOY, and figured I would make even more as I continued to grow. Not the case. The commission structure is totally unreasonable and unattainable. I quickly found out that while I continued to grow my store at a huge rate, I actually lost 25% of my pay since I was receiving no commission. In order to make a dime in commission I would have to double the growth of my store again, which was unrealistic. The December before they arrived I hit record sales and received over $2k in commission. The first December they were there I beat even my previous record numbers, but didn't hit the required number of phones they wanted so I made nothing in commission. The one or two times I hit numbers to receive commission it was 1/5 of what my lowest commission check was with the previous owners. Elite claimed that the other owners sold because they had a commission structure that was costing them money, but the real reason was because Sprint forced them out to let this unethical company in. They also posted an opening for entry level employees at a rate higher than what they were paying the current employees and when we brought it to their attention they said it was an error, just to find out that the entry level employees were actually being paid the posted rate. Oh and that schedule we were told about...we were advised as managers we were only expected to work 40-43 hours a week, and "we would never expect you to work over 45 hrs." However, we were quickly scheduled for 14 hrs days 6 days a week and on our days off we regularly had to attend conference calls, sometimes multiple times a day. There is no work life balance and I was working easily 55 hrs a week coming in at 7 AM leaving at 9 PM and not having an opportunity to take a lunch. Not only did management lie to employees, the only way to even get close to hitting the unreasonable commission goals was to be completely unethical. They taught us to sell unnecessary lines of service (giving customers a "replacement phone") in lieu of the protection, but an extra phone attached to an unused line does not substitute for the protection because at the end of the leases you are still required to turn in both phones in good condition or buyout the broken phones. They gave us pitches to sell the tablets no strings attached (even though there are always data charges tied to the tablets) and told us to build tablets, phones lines, etc. into customers' rates, and encouraged us to inform customers that the rate would not change if they did not accept these free items (untrue). With unethical business practice, and by buying into their shady car salesman tactics you may be able to eek out a tiny commission check while they tell you, "you are going to make so much money," but if you your reputation is more important than working for peanuts...STAY FAR AWAY!
Pros
I do not have anything positive to say about this location.
Cons
I am still missing commission that I will never get. Unprofessional. Manager would forge costumers signatures and coach employees to do the same. Unethical practices, the bad hygiene of coworker in a small work space, and bizarre behavior has made this location (Jacksonville, NC) the worst part place I've ever worked. Don't work here and definitely don't buy a phone from here. Also, the only "benefit" I got from this company was paid vacation time... I took vacation... but didn't get paid.
