Pros
Learned a lot. Especially on how their operational standards are illegal.
Cons
When you are hired as an intern they will do everything they can to not pay you. By law, an unpaid internship experience is for the benefit of the intern. This means the company should not benefit financially by having an unpaid intern, as the U.S. Department of Labor states the employer should not gain immediate advantage from the intern's activities. Unpaid internships are meant to develop the intern's skills, and the intern is not meant to do any work that a part-time employee could. This is not the case with this company. They use interns as part-time employees in order to not pay them. As an unpaid intern you will be doing work for their company without compensation. This is highly illegal and I wish to warn any student in or out of school to stay away. It's not ethically right or legal and unpaid internships need to stop in order to prevent these employers from using younger people who do not know about the laws. If you are working hard to gain experience in your field, always know that you deserve to be paid for the work you are doing. Know your laws and know that there are many other places out there that handle internships the correct way. If I had known this at the time I was here I would have reported the company and quit.
