Pros

Good pay, bonuses were great, casual dress code, love the Cira Centre and nice to be in the overall heart of center city. Definitely a great opportunity if you want to learn a lot about web and backend systems development and get those extra notches on your resume

Cons

Has this very wannabe/poor-mans Google/Facebook/Microsoft demeanor. They try to do the open environment culture but it's horrible because all the work spaces are super cramped together so you basically have no sort of personal bubble. As a developer it's annoying because all the non-developer oriented staffing is basically next to you at the other tables and they get very loud and gossipy, which is very annoying and distracting. The company tries to act like they are this super laid back and fun environment but yet they play dictator when it comes time controlling how people are positioned/seated in the office. If you want to work from home you will get the evil eye and a passive reprimanding. As far as superficial perks go, my general rule of thumb is if a company is doing stuff like free drinks, snacks, beers, etc... it's a sign of a bad things (i.e. they are trying deceive you and lower your guard) Poor/Volatile management. It felt like every other week or so someone from either 50OnRed, or its sister companies were disappearing. Rather than help people grow into their positions it seemed management would just react and fire people immediately. As far as performance reviews go there really is no formal review process. It's basically whatever management feels like telling you at the spur of the moment. One week they'll give you your "review" and tell you you're doing a great job but a few days later if it benefits them they'll tell you the exact opposite and then just put you on the chopping block because they feel like it. The product directors, sales, and upper/mid management seemed more a like a bunch spoiled frat boys, yuppies/hipsters with serious entitlement issues. They would essentially bully and intimidate in order to get what they wanted. Clearly people with serious insecurities, which was very evident when you saw them at outings/parties where they would get drunk and become belligerent. Some of the management would get drunk to the point where they would start harassing and insulting the interns/admin-staff (especially the females). I believe one of the previous reviews said it best "it's a high school popularity contest" So if you are in bed with those in power then you will be fine but if you're not buddy buddy with the management they will find a way to throw their weight around and bully you out Overall, the company has this aroma of pretension/arrogance, which is definitely misplaced given that it's a lowly fairly unheard of company that simply makes malware/spyware. You would think from the companies attitude that they were someone like Google/Facebook/Microsoft/Apple. But it's like the title of the review "don't be fooled by all the fancy smoke and mirrors"

Pros

50onRed has some of the best employee perks you'll find. Some of my favorites: -25 days of PTO & 12 company paid holidays -Quarterly hackathons -Catered lunches -Flexible schedule -Quarterly outings -Fully stocked kitchen -Gym membership reimbursement -Employer paid healthcare While the perks are nice, they're far from the biggest benefit of working at 50onRed. They have some of the most passionate and hardworking individuals you'll find. Everyone is personable and are genuinely kind hearted folks (for the most part). It's always nice getting to work with people that don't suck.

Cons

High turnover. For a lot of staff, this is their first job out of college so it makes sense that people would look for other opportunities after getting some experience. The company has recognized this and has taken steps to retain employees such as increased benefits and raffling gift cards to employees who forward recruiter emails. 401K match requires 5 years of employment before vesting.

Pros

Where to begin...the culture- the culture and the people are what makes 50onRed truly unique. We live by our core values, our values shape the company. These core values include: GSD (get stuff done), be innovative, be curious, be passionate, be supportive and be agile. We are encouraged to think outside the box, figure out better solutions and then implement them. The office is beautiful and the perks (like the coffee bar and free lunches) are great.... The health benefits are phenomenal... the PTO is amazing... the salary and bonus structure are top of the line...but above all, 50 is a place where you are surrounded by brilliant and extremely talented individuals. I am so fortunate that I get to learn something new everyday. There is no "red tape" and the work you do directly impacts the company. The engineering and brains behind our products are super impressive and always getting better. 50 is just a great place to walk into and go to work everyday....and whats even better is leaving for the day knowing that you contributed directly to the company and to the people.

Cons

Hmm....really don't have anything negative to say.
