When we opened, corporate was very open to the improvement of the company by listening to its owners. Equipment was great quality, customer service was polite and listened to suggestions, franchise owners all worked together, etc. The more locations opened, the more greedy corporate became. Rules became very strict, extra equipment was not allowed, extra marketing ideas were not allowed, owner creativity was extremely stifled. They began selling much lower quality equipment at higher prices, communication went south between owners and the CEO, and he even started requiring his book to be sold and poster to be hung, otherwise there would be a fine.
