Pros

They're willing to hire pretty much anyone without a face-to-face interview. If you're really desperate for starting work and can't find anything try these people.

Cons

This is a very sketchy company which I highly don't recommend. I worked with these people for a year and never once actually met someone from the company and only interacted with them over the phone. They didn't really bother checking me out or the families that they matched me up with. It was pretty dangerous looking back on it, as one family I was assigned to was going through a messy divorce which I was often caught in the middle of. Plus, they don't actually know who they're really sending to which person's house because they never checked them out in person. I'm sure this company is just someone in a room with a phone trying to scrounge together some sort of professionalism with matching tutors to clients. They don't pay employees monthly (only every 2 months) and only offer direct deposit if you're with TD, otherwise they mail cheques which adds on the the 2 months wait period by a week or so. I was paid 22 an hour for tutoring elementary students, but then they don't cover travel expenses which makes the pay just about minimum wage. In addition, I told them what area I specialised in for tutoring and then matched me with something completely different. They offered company subscriptions to teaching resources websites which were mainly expired and no one had checked that so I had to provide everything myself and was not reimbursed in anyway for the materials cost. There are plenty of tutoring companies around the city which will offer you much better services within the same price range/wage whether you are a customer or tutor. The new place I'm working for is paying me 30 an hour which at least covers the travel expenses to make the job worth while, as well as reimburses me for classroom materials expenses.

Pros

I enjoyed tutoring students and its very rewarding. The managerial staff are experienced teachers and they encourage you into applying for faculty of education programs. Work hours are very flexible. You basically choose the time you would like to tutor.

Cons

The screening process took a bit of time. First it's a phone interview than second interview is in person. The second interview was I was interview by a principal and a teacher. They are very serious who they hire. Also there was very little tutoring during the summer.
