Pros

Working in Solar Power - its a hard industry to get into, A1 will hire anybody.

Cons

A1 Solar Power will hire anybody. Many people will come to Glassdoor, read and wonder - how can a company such as this exist with so many employees begging and pleading new folks not to join it? It's not a complicated question. Know that A1 Employees have come to Glassdoor because there isn't anyone to listen to them at the company. There are people going around begging employees to write good reviews, and some who think they will get brownie points have. Don't be swayed. There were horrible employees but there were others who have worked at A1 took as much abuse as they could in HOPES that the management would appreciate what they did, and see that their contributions mattered to help propel the company to its next goal. Sadly, they were wrong. No matter how these employees tried, they got spat on, degraded, used -- and there was a ton of levels of discrimination to swim through, daily in some cases. Except.. for their sales department. A1 Solar Power Sales has the most damaged sales team ever. They can go through training. They can get rules. To many of them, these won't apply. If they make a mistake, sales EXPECTS the office workers to scurry quickly and cover their horrific sales tactics/antics. They expect this because their management supports this. Not every A1 sales rep is this bad, but there are so many that are bad, people cannot see the good ones! And the good sales ones, in my opinion, are treated like crap too.

A1 Solar Power Response
11y
A1 Solar Power is consistently improving its operations and has taken to heart many concerns of its past and present employees. Many of its managers have/are going through additional training to address the needs of its employees while upgrading many control areas of its business. While past experiences of employees can be expressed here, it is not indicative of how A1 operates. It's motto has been putting the employee first, and an employee is open to discuss any conflicts to management to resolve at any time. A1 Solar Power sees all of its employees with equal opportunity, and it's HR department has always enacted on an open door policy to all discuss and resolve any all problems.

Pros

A lot of smart and good people have been through the doors of this company. But once they see the company's true colors they usually do the right thing and move on.

Cons

The energy is negative throughout the company. Employees are overworked, over stressed and underpaid. There are no health benefits for employees although the company is very successful. Instead they spend ridiculously high salaries on new executive members that are supposed to help squeeze an extra dollar in profit. Every few months there is someone new in charge who is supposed to take the company to the next level. In many cases these people don't even have basic computer skills, let alone common sense, yet employes are supposed to follow their direction without questioning. In order to move up in this company you have to be a fake person who will say whatever pleases the executives and does not care about the common well being of the employees. While employees are working hard and keep the revenues of the company rolling in, management has meetings in which they role play and play games. This is supposed to help them develop their leadership skills. As you can see by all the negative reviews it's clearly not working.
