Pros
Flexible schedule. Laid back office. Technology budget ($1200/year for hardware and software.) Get to use a language like Ruby, which is rare in this market. Good place to get some experience, but not a good long term place.
Cons
Physical work environment is terrible. They stuck IT in the back corner of the building where there is zero natural light. IT isn't treated as an equal partner, but rather as a unit subject to the whims of management. IT seems to get zero credit and all the blame (maybe it is like that everywhere?). They don't plan projects and many projects only get half done or poorly completed. Any time suggestions are made that go against the norm, you will hear that it is not the "Adfitech Way". They think they are unique and incapable of using lessons learned from other companies. I've been hesitant to say all of these things since quitting because I had several good friends still working there, but since I have left, I have been told that nearly 1/3 of the IT staff has left including the CTO. The CTO was one of the few in management that understood the modern IT landscape and fought for us. With him gone, I can't imagine the environment improving. Again, if you need a job or need to gain development experience, this is a decent place to start, but this isn't a good place for people who are seeking long-term career growth.
